When a loved one is in palliative care, every moment spent together is precious. At Pine Falls Health Centre, staff recognized a significant challenge—there was no suitable visitor furniture to support families during extended stays. Without proper seating, family members often faced discomfort, fatigue, and difficulty in being present for their loved ones during critical moments.

Thanks to the generous support of the Pine Falls Health Centre Foundation and the Interlake Eastern Health Foundation, this need has been met. Through their funding, Pine Falls Health Centre was able to purchase two new reclining sleeper chairs, designed to provide comfort and support for family members staying at a loved one’s bedside.

“These chairs make a world of difference,” says Leana Oversby, Health Services Manager. “They offer a place where family members can rest, recharge, and remain physically and emotionally strong during incredibly challenging times. The ability to be present without the added burden of discomfort allows families to focus on what truly matters—spending meaningful time together and providing reassurance to their loved ones.”
