Selkirk and District Community Foundation (SDCF) recently granted over $60,000 from the Selkirk Hospital Fund and Palliative Care Fund to the Interlake Eastern Health Foundation (IEHF) in support of enhanced patient care.

The $16,800 grant from the Palliative Care Fund will purchase air mattress and pumps to provide additional comfort and reduce skin breakdown for patients. These mattresses are always in demand and the additional resources will improve patient comfort by increasing the amount available for the Palliative Care Program.

The $43,900 from the Selkirk Hospital Fund will purchase essential equipment including new Gel Mattresses and Straxi Patient Transport Chairs with a docking station to improve the ability of patients to move around the facility.

Averill Stephenson, Executive Director Interlake Eastern Health Foundation says these generous grants continue to will enhance patient care.
