The South West District Palliative Care (SWDPC) Board purchases a new air mattress for the Stonewall and District Health Centre
Stonewall and District Health Centre needed a new air mattress for palliative patients in the hospital and as always, the SWDPC Board happily stepped up to purchase one.
Doug Pickell, chairman of the Board says that they are always looking for opportunities to provide care in the region.
“The South West District Palliative Care Board is always looking for opportunities to provide care, comfort and support for those facing end of life situations. In June we welcomed the chance to participate with the Interlake Eastern Health Foundation in the purchase of this mattress for the palliative care room at Stonewall Hospital”, says Pickell.
Patrice Lee, clinical team manager at Stonewall and District Health Centre says staff really appreciate the generosity of the SWDPC Board.
“The staff of at Stonewall hospital appreciate the generosity of the SWDPC on the purchase of the air mattress. This will be used to provided extended comfort to the palliative patients at Stonewall Hospital,” says Lee.
Pamela McCallum, executive director of the Interlake Eastern Health Foundation (IEHF) says the ongoing support of the SWDPC Board is heartwarming and truly appreciated.
“We’ve had the opportunity to work the SWDPC Board on a few projects and the more we work together, the more it becomes obvious how caring, supportive, and generous this group of people is. There are a lot of projects that simply wouldn’t happen without their support and we feel very lucky to have them as friends of the Foundation,” says McCallum.
